Anson Appoints SRK as Lithium Project Technical Advisor Highlight:
  • SRK engaged to utilise extensive lithium exploration experience to review and prioritise drilling targets

Anson Resources Limited (ASX: ASN) (Anson or the Company) has appointed SRK Consulting (U.S.), Inc. ("SRK") as Technical Advisor for it's Paradox Brine Project near Moab, Utah, USA.

SRK will conduct a review to assist in prioritising the 8 drilling locations identified (see Figure 1), including the possible re-entry of an existing oil well drilled through Clastic Zone 31, which is known to contain lithium rich brine. The review is expected to be completed by the end of August, 2017.

The SRK team will be led by Mr Jerry Aiken. Mr Aiken has more than 45 years experience in the mining industry, primarily in mineral exploration. Over the last 25 years he has focused on the industrial minerals sector covering projects in Western US, Canada, Mexico, South America and parts of Europe and Asia, with a recent emphasis on lithium brines, potash and borates.

SRK's geologists, hydrogeologists and engineers from its offices in Europe, Australia, North America and South America have been engaged for lithium-potassium brine projects in USA, Australia, Chile and Argentina, since 2008. SRK have advised on initial exploration, mineral resource estimation, mineral reserve statements for brine and hard rock deposits; as well as technical due diligence work on these deposits. SRK offers technical proficiency in lithium exploration, basin targeting and characterization, on-site well field design and construction, well field planning and management through groundwater numerical modelling, solar pond simulation, pre-concentration engineering design, water rights, environmental permitting, project infrastructure design, brine processing and environmental managing of process residuals.

Mr Bruce Richardson, Managing Director of Anson, commented: "The appointment of SRK Consulting (US) Inc. as Technical Advisors provide Anson with access to people with extensive experience drilling in the Paradox Basin and lithium-potassium projects is important to take this project forward. There is no replacement for local knowledge and experience."
