BC, Vilnius, 10.10.2017.Print version
Litgas, the gas trade arm of the state energy group Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy), will sell gas to Poland's gas supply company Duon. The liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be transported from Klaipeda's new LNG distribution station on auto gas carriers, informs LETA/BNS.

Paulius Jakutavicius, spokesman for Litgas, told BNS that the first gas carrier would leave for Poland by the end of October.

"The deal with Duon is important for us, as we are starting new commercial operations – LNG supplies by land, which will help diversify our operations," Litgas CEO Vytautas Cekanavicius said in a press release.

Indre Miliniene, spokeswoman for Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil), the Lithuanian operator of oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, has told BNS that the station would be launched on Oct. 27.

Linas Agro Group's poultry farms in Latvia and Latvia's biggest gas consumer Latvenergo also buy LNG from another company of the Lietuvos Energija holding, Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas (Lithuanian Gas Supply, LDT). According to information available to BNS, Enefit, Eesti Energia's gas supply to Latvia, is also among gas buyers from LDT. LDT buyers include more than 10 Latvian companies

Via the LNG station, gas can also be purchased by Estonia's LNG supplier Jetgas, which should this year install a temporary LNG degasification station in Druskininkai, a resort city in southern Lithuania.
