London-listed oil producer Urals Energy has been boosted by rising crude prices
PRODUCER GUSHING Rising oil prices have helped improve takings at London-listed producer Urals Energy.
The Russia-focused firm said it had secured net proceeds of $53.44 per barrel on a tanker shipment that left its Barents Sea base earlier this month, an improvement of $16.46 compared to last year.
Another tanker loading from the site on Kolguyev Island will depart in November with up to 158,000 barrels.
PLANES LEASED Aircraft leasing firm Avation has leased a second Airbus A220-300 aircraft to Air Baltic, the state-owned Latvian carrier.
The 12-year deal started this month and is at market rate, the firm said.
The A220-300 seats up to 160 passengers and has a range of up to 3,300 nautical miles.
STREAM PLAN US supermarket giant Walmart is reportedly planning a major expansion of its Vudu online video website to challenge Netflix.
The firm has been in talks with film and television studios about producing original content – where currently it only rents movies and shows made by others – for a subscription-based service, according to entertainment trade magazine Variety.
SALE ENGINEERED The UK’s competition regulator has decided not to intervene in the sale of engineering firm Northern Aerospace to Chinese-owned Gardner Aerospace over defence concerns.
Unfortunately for Jon Moulton, the private equity manager who was trying to sell Northern, the deal had already been called off due to the regulator’s delays.
RAILWAY STRIKES A series of strikes is to go ahead on some of the country’s busiest rail routes in the long-running dispute over guards, a union has confirmed.
Members of the RMT union on South Western Railway will walk out on eight dates from July 26 to the beginning of September.
The move follows a deal between the union and Greater Anglia to end a similar dispute, which the RMT said guarantees a guard on trains.
