“The company is looking to hire senior staff in Connecticut to fill key positions among the company’s expanding ranks,” according to AdvanceCT, which is a nonprofit that collaborates with the Department of Economic and Community Development and other on economic development.

“Our Rocky Hill facility is focused on engineering and design,” said Jonathan Leach, president and CEO of MTU Aero Engines North America, in a statement. “We have been fortunate to find the engineering talent we need here in Connecticut, and we are thrilled to be looking for more.”

“MTU is a globally recognized expert in the development, production, and maintenance of military and commercial jet engines. We are delighted they choose Connecticut for their operation, and we are even more delighted that their business is thriving and growing in our state.”

The spokesperson for AdvanceCT noted that a delegation from Connecticut, including Gov. Ned Lamont, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Dan O’Keefe, and representatives of AdvanceCT visited MTU Aero Engines’ global headquarters in Munich, Germany, and met with company CEO, Lars Wagner. “The delegation recognized the economic and cultural impact that MTU and other German manufacturers have on Connecticut’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem.”
