COLLEGEVILLE — St. John’s Prep has established the Brother Paul Vincent Niebauer Endowed Chair in Theatre, according to a St. John’s Prep news release.

Over 25 years Niebauer directed more than 50 productions at St. John’s Prep and with external organizations prior to his retirement as director in 2019, the release said.

The position is funded through the school’s $10 million “Prep Forward” campaign, according to the release. When fully funded, the endowed chair will permanently support the school’s theater director position, according to the release.

The “Prep Forward” campaign, which launched in April 2024, focuses on supporting faculty, facilities and financial aid, according to the release.

Brandon Anderson, a 2013 St. John’s University graduate, joined the theater program in the fall of 2018 and took over as theater director following Niebauer’s retirement in 2019.
