Celebrity Big Brother star Tiffany Pollard's life - from 'David's dead' to health battle
As Celebrity Big Brother is set to return to our screens, here's everything you need to know about one of the show's most iconic contestants
American TV personality Tiffany Pollard became a household name in the UK following her stint on the 17th season of Celebrity Big Brother back in 2016.
She entered the iconic house alongside well-known faces such as Gemma Collins, Megan McKenna, John Partridge, Stephanie Davies, Danniella Westbrook, and winner Scotty T.
The season was rife with drama, featuring everything from explosive tantrums to memorable screaming matches, not to mention Gemma's iconic catchphrases and Stephanie's roller-coaster romance with Jeremy McConnell that drew widespread attention.
Yet, one particular moment from the series has become an iconic part of Celebrity Big Brother history.
During her stay in the house, Angie Bowie was discreetly told by producers about the passing of her former husband, music legend David Bowie, due to cancer, reports OK!
In a private moment, Angie confided in Tiffany, whispering: "You can't say a word, David's dead."
Thinking Angie was referring to their fellow contestant, David Gest, Tiffany was seen collapsing on the floor and shrieking in utter shock.
Despite Angie's calls for discretion regarding her ex's passing, an overwhelmed Tiffany inadvertently shared the news with the other contestants.
Panic ensued as several housemates hurried to check on David Gest, who was, coincidentally, lying in bed at the time. Later, Tiffany was annoyed as she thought that Angie had deceived her, only to later realise the miscommunication.
As Celebrity Big Brother makes its anticipated comeback to ITV and ITVX tomorrow night (April 7), let's delve into Tiffany's life away from the show.
Life and Career
Tiffany's television career began in 2005 when a casting agent from 51 Minds Entertainment spotted the then 23-year-old clothing buyer on Hollywood Boulevard. She soon found fame in US reality show Flavor of Love in 2006, and its spin-off I Love New York in 2007.
Her effervescent personality led to roles in Brunch with Tiffany, Hot Haus, House of Villains, College Hill: Celebrity Edition and Celebrity Ex on the Beach. In 2023, Variety magazine recognised her as one of the most powerful women in reality TV.
Tiffany has also been open about her personal struggles, including her bipolar disorder diagnosis.
In 2017, she said: "I own every inch of my personality now, so to admit that I do suffer from a little bit of bipolar disorder is just me being transparent, and it's true."
She added: "I think patience is a virtue when you're dealing with someone who does suffer from bipolar because one minute you can be so up in the clouds and the next you can just be so angry out of nowhere."
Tiffany is also an outspoken supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community and, in 2023, revealed she identifies as queer.
"I have lived a very, very broad life. I've never been afraid to do anything that I wanted to do," she said on The Jason Lee Show last year.
CBB return
Nearly a decade after her unforgettable TV moment, Tiffany is gearing up for a comeback to the Celebrity Big Brother universe as a presenter on the spin-off show, Late and Live.
She'll be in good company with last year's champion David Potts and Strictly sensation Oti Mabuse, as they rotate stepping into the shoes of Celebrity House Guest.
Teaming up with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, the trio will engage in side-splitting chats and debates with a glittering panel each evening.
A source revealed: "There are no fans as passionate as those that love Big Brother and this booking's one for them. Tiffany is a solid gold show legend and is going to be brilliant on the Late and Live panel."
The Sun has confirmed the line-up for this year's Celebrity Big Brother, with stars like Jack P Shepherd, Patsy Palmer, Donna Preston and Jojo Siwa poised to step into the famed house.
Celebrity Big Brother will return to ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on Monday, April 7
