TREMONTON — A gas line was severed Saturday afternoon during a single-vehicle crash, according to Tremonton Fire Department.
In a Facebook post from the TFD, the crash closed down Main Street from Tremonton Street to 300 E.
Tremonton City Emergency Manager Nate Christensen said the single-vehicle crash went off the road and hit a gas line in front of a building.
The spokesperson for Enbridge Jorgen Hoffling said the vehicle hit a riser pipe and were unable to shut off the gas.
The TFD said they had to wait for Enbridge to come out and turn the gas off.
Christensen said they were also able to ventilate a couple of businesses that were affected by the gas leak.
Hoffling said several businesses were evacuated as a precaution.
The street is currently closed, as the gas company works to repair the line.
