The Africa Internship Academy presents its inaugural Future of Work in Africa (www.AfricaInternshipAcademy.com/future-of-work-in-africa/) Event, on the 22nd September, 2018 in Accra, Ghana.

The event themed “Enhancing Partnerships for 21st Century Skills: Youth as JOB CREATORS not JOB SEEKERS, using AIAs Approach” will focus on how Youths can be self-empowered through job acquisition in a technologically concentrated environment. The event is primarily geared towards addressing some of the salient issues of the 2030 sustainable Development Goals (www.GH.UNDP.org/content/ghana/en/home/sustainable-development-goals.html) with special attention to goal 8 (www.GH.UNDP.org/content/ghana/en/home/sustainable-development-goals/goal-8-decent-work-and-economic-growth.html) which seeks to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

Future of Work in Africa, as an inaugural event will bring together key speakers within fields of technology, skills, entrepreneurship, governance and agriculture to deliberate in a panel about the way forward for youths in aspects of work in the future. Discussions will center on the impact of the 4th industrial revolution on work and employment. The fact that youths in Africa need to nurture their skills to become self-employed in the future, and the Good policies must be adopted to bridge gap between employment and the rapid technological growth.

According to the Africa Regional Research & Strategy Manager, Emmanuel Leslie Addae, the organization as a key stakeholder of Africa’s development has a massive role to play in the process. “As a youth empowerment social enterprise in Africa and a stakeholder of Africa’s socio-economic and political development, we believe in a better Africa based on proactive and sustainable programs and policies that best addresses issues surrounding youths especially in the area of employment and work. As an organization, our call to duty revolves around these issues. We have, and are playing our part towards that mandate, and we call on governments and key stakeholders across Africa to be highly proactive and put in collaborative effort in solving the problem of decent and sustainable work without compromising the ability to meet future needs in the work environment.”

The free event will see ace speakers such as Tirso Dos Santos - Country Director of UNESCO, Mami Serwaa Amoakohene - CEO of 3Ps Consult, Abubakar Amin Sulley - Founder of Zaacoal Energy, Alfred Adjabeng - Founder of School Farms, Emmanuel Awume - CEO of Sesil Consult, Regina Honu - Founder of Soronko Academy & Soronko Solutions, Christabel Dadzie - Social Protection Specialist, World Bank Group, Ghana.
