Gazprom Neft opens a sports complex in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug
A new sports facility — the «Polyarny (Polar)» sports complex — has opened in the city of Labytnangi in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, built by Gazprom Neft as part of its «Home Towns» corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
The new Polyarny complex means local residents will now be able to swim, practice dance and aerobics, and play five-a-side football, basketball and tennis, all year round. The 7,000 square-metre complex also includes a multifunctional gym and weights room, an aerobics studio and a six-lane swimming pool. The universal gym, which can be transformed into a performance space for concerts and conferences, offers spectator seating for 350, with a special area for wheelchair users. The sports complex offers a barrier-free area for people with disabilities, as well as showers equipped with tactile floor tiles for the visually impaired.
This is now the second sports complex to be built by Gazprom Neft in Labytnangi — the new Avangard ice complex having opened here in September.

The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is a crucial region for the company’s activities — the oil and gas condensate fields here being responsible for approximately 50 percent of the company’s total production. The Novoportovskoye field, located on the Yamal Peninsula, and the Vostochno-Messoyakhskoye field (the northernmost onshore field in Russia, located on the Gydan Peninsula) are today making a significant contribution to Gazprom Neft’s production growth. In terms of proven hydrocarbon reserves, these assets are considered unique. Full-scale construction at the Tazovsky field is planned for 2020.
